On this day 250 years ago in New York, Private Moses Barret of the Connecticut Militia died while in service. A roster recorded that he enlisted on September 6, 1776 in Lt. Robert Parke’s Company of Col. Douglas’s Regiment, marched 120 miles and died on this date. That is all I know about his service for the cause of American liberty but I want to honor it here along with the other men in service who died that day but their names were not recorded for history.
