On this day 250 years ago in the Revolution — August 24, 1776

On this day 250 years ago at Crown Point on Lake Champlain, New York, a flotilla of ten American ships sailed north on Lake Champlain under the command of Brig. Gen. Benedict Arnold to confront the British fleet leading an invasion from Canada.
