On this day 250 years ago at Martinborough (now Greenville), North Carolina, the Pitt County Committee of Safety produced a set of resolves that pledged to follow the directives of the Continental Congress, to “assert their rights as men”, and to resist “the several arbitrary Illegale acts of Parliament.”
